Mesquite is the only wood I work with now because of its stability and strength. It has a richly figured grain pattern that varies throughout the tree. The tight fibers allow the wood to be polished to a beautiful sheen. It seems only natural to be working with such a versatile and storied tree in the heart of the brush country of South Texas.

SOUTHWEST BOWL
. This design was inspired by the pottery of Southwest native american people. I inlayed Sleeping Beauty turquoise, from Globe AZ into cracks and fissures in the bowl that really compliments the wood grain.
